Historic stunt re-imagined for Land Rover

When Land Rover decided to prove the capability and power of its new Discovery Sport SUV by recreating the famous ‘train pull’ stunt that had launched the original Discovery back in 1989, we were tasked with capturing the escapade on film for all to see.

You know you’ve hit the bullseye when the CEO of the brand you’re working for sees your content in a far-flung corner of the globe and rings his PR team to demand more of the same please! That was the outcome of the stunt that Foxtrot Papa captured for posterity in Switzerland to launch the new Land Rover Discovery Sport SUV.

The messaging behind the film was simple: the media and consumers would discover that Discovery Sport is a strong, powerful and technologically advanced vehicle.

Cinematic drone shots showcased the scale and drama of this incredible feat, while more intimate close-ups and onboard footage highlighted the semi-autonomous technologies being used. The stunt stopped everybody in their tracks and our film went viral, registering well in excess of 1.5 million views on Land Rover’s YouTube channel alone, and generating press coverage in print and online channels the world over.
