Escape the City with Liquid

In the ultra-competitive world of automotive, car brands are forever thinking of new ways to entice customers towards their products, and the increasing number of car sharing options is just one such tactic. The latest app-based initiative from Jaguar Land Rover comes in the form of a new ‘delivered and collected’ car hire service for adventure-hungry Londoners.

Our offices are based in Borough, Zone 1, so we’re very supportive of the shared urban mobility solutions on Central London’s streets; be it dockless bicycles, pay-per-minute rental cars or on-demand taxi services.

In fact, we often use the swipe, drive and drop carpool services of ZipCar or DriveNow if we need a set of wheels for journeys in and around the capital. If we need to escape the city in something a bit more comfortable however – perhaps to transport camera crew and their gear to a photoshoot in Wales – we’re faced with going in search of a more traditional hire car company such as Avis or Hertz, which adds time and inconvenience plus a host of extra hidden costs.

Thankfully, attitudes to mobility and car sharing are beginning to change and there’s now a new option for time-poor drivers to consider. Jaguar Land Rover has chosen to disrupt to the hire car market by backing Liquid, a flexible service that promises to deliver and collect your car at your chosen time, anywhere in Zones 1, 2 and even some of 3. There are no hidden costs and everything bar fuel is included: comprehensive insurance, unlimited mileage, extra drivers and child seats. They even include the congestion charge.

OK, so it may be a slightly more expensive option than the established rental brands, but just imagine for one moment… no more grubby waiting rooms or taxi rides to and from the depot and no more painful overnight parking charges. You’ll also be guaranteed one of Land Rover’s smart new Discovery Sport SUVs, fully kitted out with a panoramic roof, clever in-car apps and park assist technology. There’s no need to fill up with fuel before the car is collected either, as they do it for you, without charging a premium on pump prices.

One day’s rental starts from £150, with lower rates available for longer rental periods, and as is the case with most new mobility start-ups the whole process can be completed paperwork-free via an easy-to-use app. Visit www.liquid.auto to download it and to find out more…
