Glove Box Stories: Jaguar Land Rover announces new global strategy – Reimagine

George Chapman

This week, Jaguar Land Rover’s Chief Executive Officer, Thierry Bolloré, announced a new global strategy for the British car maker, setting out some clear targets in the process. Titled ‘Reimagine’ the strategy aims to deliver “a sustainability-rich reimagination of modern luxury, unique customer experiences, and positive societal impact”. The announcement marks the start of a journey for the company to become a net zero carbon business by 2039.
As part of the plan, Jaguar will be reimagined as an all-electric luxury brand from 2025. Despite this, JLR has confirmed that the anticipated electric XJ is not due to form part of the line-up.
Bolloré also confirmed that in the next five years, Land Rover will welcome no fewer than six pure electric variants – with all Jaguar and Land Rover nameplates to be available in pure electric form by end of the decade. The first all-electric Land Rover model is due in 2024 and clean-hydrogen fuel-cell power is being developed in preparation for future demand. Find out more about the Reimagine strategy.
Here at Foxtrot Papa, we think this is fantastic news for Jaguar Land Rover and points towards a bright future for the British automotive industry as a whole.
