VW Arteon Shooting Brake confirmed
VW has expanded its handsome Arteon range to include a hot new R model and the highly anticipated Shooting Brake estate model, as these futuristis computer generated images show. Still loosely based on the Passat, the Arteon offers a stylish design with a very high quality interior. By throwing performance and an added dose of practicality into the mix, is this the start of a new era at VW, and one that steers away from SUVs?
Naran Automotive teases new 250mph supercar
Naran Automotive has revealed teaser sketches of its first ever road car, the dramatic Naran supercar. Currently in its final stages of development and due on sale in August, the new model is powered by a front-mid mounted twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, with a claimed output of 1,034bhp. Power will be sent to all four wheels to deliver a 0-60mph time of 2.1 seconds, a 0–100mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of up to 250mph. Backed by Indian-Zimbabwean businessman Ahmeer Naran, the brand’s new model features the design skills of automotive designer Jowyn Wong – who is best known for his work on the Apollo IE.
BMW 4 Series causes grille debate
Unless you’ve been offline for the past few days, you’ll know that the new BMW 4 Series has a very large grille, in fact, it’s enormous – no-one is disputing that. Different opinions aside, Alex Goy spoke with BMW’s design chief Domagoj Dukec back in December for Driving.co.uk, and it’s his opinion on the future of BMW’s design that we’re most excited about: “No more playing it safe for BMW!”
